The Hilton Baltimore BWI was proud to assist Lindsay MacDonald, a senior photography major at the Maryland Institute College of Art complete her senior project, a requirement for graduation. Lindsay has been fascinated by our industry and I’d like to quote her feelings as she expressed them so well in finishing this task! Lindsay stated, “During my studies of tourists and travel I have become fascinated with the fabricated domesticity of the hotel room. Hotels function as a temporary residence, and place of comfort for a night or as long as a couple weeks, and they are an intriguing mesh of domestic and corporate standards. I have gathered a collection of the domestic spaces in hotels around Greater Baltimore, emphasizing the duplicity of the rooms, and simultaneously allowing the specific décor choices made by each hotel to stand out. These little details give the viewer clues about each hotel’s notion of comfort.” WOW! Congratulations Lindsay on the completion of what we know was a stellar finish to your college education and thank you for sending us your prints soon.
